About me

Francesca Rogers, MUPCA, MUKCP, MSt Oxon

I’m Francesca, a qualified psychotherapist with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and a Masters in Psychodynamic Practice, having completed an in-depth four-year psychotherapy training at Oxford University. I am an accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I work one-to-one both online and in-person in Oxford. I have several years of experience working with adults presenting with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, and self-esteem.

Psychodynamic therapy is a form of talking therapy that typically works at depth, based on the idea that much of our emotional life happens outside of our conscious awareness. Often we can’t explain the patterns we get stuck in or why we react so intensely within certain relationships or situations. By focusing not just on symptoms but looking beneath the surface together, we can understand the deeper roots of what’s troubling you. Psychodynamic therapy offers a space to gently uncover these together, and bring unconscious thoughts and feelings into awareness. This way of working can be particularly helpful for those who are curious to explore their inner world, and hoping to develop deeper self-understanding and long-lasting changes.

However, I have no particular kind of person I typically work with and welcome people from all walks of life. My practice is affirming of neurodivergence as well as all gender identities and sexual orientations. I’m also knowledgeable about non-monogamous relationship styles and kink practices. I aim to offer therapy as a compassionate and confidential space in which the fullness of my clients’ identities are treated with curiosity and openness, and allows for their story to unfold at their own pace.
